The Blowing Rock- A North Carolina attraction since 1933, the Blowing Rock is the state’s oldest travel attraction. Built around the legend of the daughter of a Chickasaw chief who fell in love with a Cherokee brave, the rock is said to be the place where the Great Spirit sent a great gust of wind to blow the young woman’s love back to her. It is said from that day forward a perpetual wind has blown over The Blowing Rock. Come experience the legend for yourself.
